National Teachers Day!
art from Etsy Seller paintedbliss
With teachers in my family and in my daughters life, I very much support and appreciate what they do. To be a teacher takes a great amount of love, compassion, patience, strength and sense. may God bless every teacher who has been called to guide our children.
So, not only is it National Teachers Day, it is also
Lumpy Rug Day
I could not find a "lumpy rug" on etsy.com. So I took a little trip to E-How.com and learned a little about "lumpy rug day". According to this article, we are supposed to gather the family and talk about a rug in our home, one that does not lay flat, and bunches up....we are to tell stories about the rug.
There is a rug under my sewing machine table, it gets all bunched up because I have a rolling chair on it. It also houses lost pins and needles, that are sometimes discovered by my bare feet.
My lumpy rug is green, made from berber and it is very worn in the area that I roll my chair around.
I wish I had a rug like this:

The world media has truly molded and affected our cultures, on each country, in each region and even without our cities. the World Press Freedom event is held in Washington DC and encourages each and every one of us to report and express.
"Highlighting the many events surrounding the celebration will be the awarding of the UNESCO Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize at the National Press Club on May 3rd. This prize, determined by an independent jury of international journalists, honors a person, organization or institution that has notably contributed to the defense and/or promotion of press freedom, especially where risks have been undertaken.
The Newseum will host the first two days of events, which will engage a broad array of media professionals, students, and citizen reporters on themes that address the status of new media and internet freedom, and challenges and opportunities faced by media in our rapidly changing world.": http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2010/12/152465.htm

Happy May 3rd.
